Delaware Online Casino Revenue Online
Gamblers in Delaware have chosen to play casino games online in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. With live casinos closed, the revenues for online casino gaming have showed a sharp increase during the first half of the year. Many are hoping this trend will continue.
Delaware is one of just four states that have allowed multiple forms of online gambling. This includes online casinos as well as mobile sports betting. Live sports betting is also allowed at the state's physical casinos, but the revenue from live sports betting has dropped because casinos have been closed.
More than $28 million was wagered online in Delaware during the month of April. This is the state's biggest month for iGaming revenue since Delaware made it legal to gamble online. Last April the revenues topped $11 million, meaning that the current revenues have more than doubled in one year.

There is no question that live casino closures have had something to do with the surge in revenue. Players have not been able to visit live casinos since late March. The state is currently in the process of making a plan for a phased reopening of businesses. There is no timetable for how long a full reopening could take.

There could be even more bad news for some live casinos in Delaware and other locations in the US. Louisiana reported the closure of Diamond Jack's Casino, a physical venue that had been serving local customers for many years. The pandemic was stated as the reason for the casino's closure. Similar closings could occur in other states, leaving the door open for increased online gambling.
